I’ve asked several seniors if they’d be up for a nighttime senior session, and until this week, no one had taken me up on the idea. I was so excited when this senior said yes!
We began downtown with traditional portraits—because we have to make the parents and grandparents happy! Then, as the sun began to set, I brought out my lighting and started creating something a little different: senior portraits beneath the city lights.
I loved this senior’s style. She was a natural in front of the camera, and we had so much fun exploring the city together. We’d be walking toward one spot when something else caught my eye, so we’d stop, take a few photos, and then keep going. Some of my favorite images came from those unexpected stops along the way.
A nighttime session gives us a chance to play with the city’s lights and create portraits with a different mood and feel. I’d love to plan more sessions like this with seniors, couples, and even families. Would you be up for a night on the town?
I’ll share the traditional portraits from this session tomorrow, so stay tuned for the first part of our downtown adventure.
One quick note: I used AI to create a city scene in the background of one image. I wanted to experiment and add something extra creative to the session.
